rich

Nigel and his wife Karla, who is Spanish, both work at the Regent Hotel in the centre of London. Nigel is a receptionist and Karla works in the hotel bar. The hotel is very popular and expensive. Around thirty people usually come to the Regent Hotel every day.

Nigel says:

"Ten million people visit London every year. In our hotel we have fifty rooms, and we have visitors from all over the world, especially from America and Japan. I speak English, German, French, and Spanish. I don't speak Japanese, but I want to learn it. Our visitors like doing many things. On a typical day they have breakfast in the hotel restaurant, an English breakfast of eggs, bacon, tea and toast. After breakfast they visit the Parliament and Buckingham Palace and go shopping. They go everywhere by bus or by taxi. They come back to the hotel at four o'clock and have tea and relax. Then in the evening they go to the theatre. I work from six o'clock in the morning till three in the afternoon. We like meeting people of all nationalities."

Karla says:

"Our hotel is very big and beautiful and it is at the good place. I work from six in the evening till one in the morning. During the day I usually go shopping and prepare everything that we need for the hotel and our guests. In the morning I go to the market, go back to the hotel, have lunch, relax and then go to work. Our guests are very famous and rich and they usually need expensive things. I have to buy everything they need. I speak English, French and Spanish of course. I work very hard but I like my job."
